Global 100 _세계 100대 지속가능기업 _세계경제포럼 2010

다음은 세계경제포럼(WEF, World Economic Forum, Davos Forum)에서 매년 발표하는 세계 지속가능기업 100대 리스트입니다.
이 자료는 매년 초에 해당 홈페이지인 www.global100.org 에서 업데이트 하여 게시하고 있습니다. 
'Global 100'은 'Clean Capitalism'(깨끗한 자본주의)를 지향하는 'Corporate Knights' 사에서 선정하여 발표합니다. 이 작업을 위해 'Corporate Knights'는 'Inflection Point Capital Management', 'Phoenix Global Advisors LLC' 사(社)와 각각 협력했습니다.
이전의 'Global 100'(글로벌 100)과 마찬가지로 이번 선정 결과도 '환경, 사회, 지배구조' 이슈(Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) Issue)에 집중하여 그 기초가 마련되었습니다. 2005년에 출범한 'Global 100'은 매년 다보스 세계경제 포럼에서 그 선정 결과를 발표합니다. 
 
2010년 올 해의 선정 결과를 보면, 국내에서는 삼성전자(Samsung Electronics), 포스코(Posco)가 각각 91위, 93위로 순위권에 진입해 있습니다. 일본 기업은 5곳이고, 국가별로는 영국계가 21개 기업으로 가장 많습니다.

* 'Global 100'은 기업의 재무적인 성과는 환경(Environmental), 노동(Labour), 인권(Human Rights)과 같은 지속가능성(Sustainability) 이슈(issues)에 연동하여 영향을 받는다고 보고, 이런 모든 요소를 고려하여 기업의 지속가능성을 평가하고자 합니다. 건전 경영(Sound Management), 즉 사회, 환경, 지배구조(Social, Environmental, Governance, ESG) 영역은 기업, 주주, 정책결정자, 소비자, 고용자를 비롯한 모든 이해관계자들에게 중요한 관심사가 되고 있습니다.
이러한 ESG 이슈에 충실한 역할 수행을 하여 '지속가능성'(sustainability)을 담보한 기업이 재무적인 성과도 내며, 그 존속을 오랫동안 보장받을 수 있다는 명제가 'Global 100' 선정 작업의 저변에 깔려있습니다.
