'Carpenters'(카펜터스)의 'Top of the World', 'Yesterday Once More', 'Sing' 들어볼까요~
14년동안 활동하면서 'Carpenters', 'A Song for You', 'Close to You', 'Now & Then', 'Horizon'를 비롯한 모두 11개의 앨범을 발표했네요.
Such a feelin's coming over me
There is wonder in most ev'ry thing I see,
Not a cloud in the sky got the sun in my eyes,
And I -- won't be surprised if it's a dream.
Ev'rything I want the world to be,
Is now coming true especially for me,
And the reason is clear - It's because you are here,
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
I'm on the -- top of the world lookin'
down on creation and the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found, ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world
Something in the wind has learned my name,
and it's tellin' me that things are not the same,
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze,
there's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me.
There is only one wish on my mind,
When this day is through I hope that I will find,
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me,
All I need -- will be mine if you are here.
I'm on the -- top of the world lookin'
down on creation and the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found, ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world
그 중에서 'Superstar'(1969), 'Top of the World'(1973), 'Yesterday Once More'(1973), ''Close to You'(1970), Sing'(1973), 'I Believe You'(1981) 등이 특히 유명합니다.
When I was young
I'd listen to the radio
Waiting for my favorite songs
When they played I'd sing along
It made me smile
Those were such happy times
And not so long ago
How I wondered where they'd gone
But they're back again
Just like a long lost friend
All the songs I loved so well
(*) Every Sha-la-la-la
Every Wo-wo-wo
Still shines
Every shing-a-ling-a-ling
That they started to sing
So fine
When they get to the part
Where he's breakin' her heart
It can really make me cry
Just like before
It's yesterday once more
Looking back on how it was
In years gone by
And the good times that I had
Makes today seem rather sad
So much has changed
It was songs of love that
I would sing to then
And I'd memorize each word
Those old melodies
Still sound so good to me
As they melt the years away
Repeat (*)
All my best memories
Come back clearly to me
Some can even make me cry
Just like before
It's yesterday once more
Carpenters Sing, Yesterday Once More 를 감상해 보와요 ~~ ^^
두 곡 모두 Now And Then(1973) 앨범에 수록되었습니다.
Carpenters Sing lyrics
Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud
Sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad
(*) Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last
Your whole life long
Don’t worry that it’s not
Good enough for anyone
Else to hear
Just sing, sing a song
La la la la la
La la la la la la...
Sing, sing a song
Let the world sing along
Sing of love there could be
Sing for you and for me
Repeat (*)
